A mountain with a lake on its summit is stimulated by the moisture from the lake. It has this advantage because its summit does not jut out as a peak but is sunken. The image counsels that the mind should be kept humble and free, so that it may remain receptive to good advice.

Lake Mountain Feng Shui was started by Maryjane Osa in 2007 because she wanted to combine her interests in harmonious design with her studies of the I Ching. With a doctorate in sociology, she also applies insights into relationships and social connections in her Feng Shui consulting.

Ms. Osa is certified as a Feng Shui professional through the Feng Shui Institute of America (FSIA) and is a member in good standing of Feng Shui Institute International (FSII). These groups are the institutional arms of the Pyramid School of Feng Shui. Pyramid Feng Shui is a contemporary interpretation of ancient Chinese principles that help to align a person, his intentions, and his space.

The Pyramid school substantiates traditional feng shui practices through applying modern scientific knowledge. For example, social science findings about how persons interact within different environments or respond to color provide evidence for traditional concepts such as yin and yang. Pyramid school practitioners place the individual and her intentions at the center, and help the person to realize personal goals through adjusting her living and working environments to support them.

In addition to her Pyramid school training, Ms. Osa has taken classes in space clearing with one of Karen Kingston’s trainers and in BTB school feng shui with Nancy SantoPietro.

Ms. Osa has studied for many years with Carol Anthony and Hanna Moog of the I Ching Institute in Stow, MA in their professional program. She is available for private I Ching counseling and periodically offers classes on consulting the I Ching .
